Institutional Credentialing
Qualifications and Requirements

 

Applicants for Institutional Credentialing must be either Christian institutions or other religious institutions which accept the teachings of the orthodox Christian faith.

 

Applicants for Credentialing otherwise credentialed by a recognized accrediting organization or exhibiting a long-standing record of educational accomplishment may by-pass portions of the application process and be granted immediate Credentialed status.


Credentialing will be based upon the application information, reputation, published materials, media presentations, other verifiable information, and the On-Site Visit/Inspection. The On-Site inspection may not be required for institutions providing only distance learning programs.

The institution shall:


Applicants for Credentialing must complete an Application for Credentialing.

Applicants for Credentialing must adhere to the AAPPP “Code of Ethics.”

 

Applicants for Credentialing must have lawful status to operate in the location for which they apply.

 

Applicants for Credentialing who grant degrees must furnish verifiable authorization to do so or be exempt as religious institutions.


Applicants for Credentialing must adopt "The Recommendations of the World Conference on Higher Education, sponsored by UNESCO", and the applicable sections of the "UNESCO Guidelines for Quality Provision in Cross-Border Higher Education."

 

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and maintain a policy for admission, grading, and maintaining permanent records.


Applicants for Credentialing will ensure admission standards are the same for all students.

Applicants for Credentialing agree to maintain the standards of Credentialing throughout the period of authorization.

 

Applicants for Credentialing will ensure curriculum is prepared and presented by instructor qualified in the appropriate field of instruction.


Applicants for Credentialing who maintain online or distance learning programs shall be subject to the same standards as those institutions with a “brick and mortar” premises.

 

Applicants for Credentialing will maintain an ongoing program of self-evaluation to maintain standards of excellence.

 

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and implement procedures for monitoring, investigating, and correction of ethics or policy violations.

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and maintain a fair and equitable grading system.

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and publish offered courses of instruction.

 

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and publish a “Course Catalog” which will include course descriptions.

Applicants for Credentialing will establish and publish a tuition and fee schedule.

Applicants for Credentialing maintain a fair and equitable refund policy.

Applicants for Credentialing will furnish AAPPP with any requested course outlines, curriculum, or policy procedures they may desire.


Applicants for Credentialing will award only degrees duly earned through a course of study. No Credentialed institution shall award any degree solely on the basis of life or work experience.

AAPPP may at its discretion perform periodic or random reviews of the Credentialing status of an accredited institution.

A Credentialed institution may be placed on probation or dropped from Credentialing status for any number of reasons, including but not limited to:


Unethical, dishonest, or criminal practices.

 

Educational standards dropping below those required for initial Credentialing.


A loss of or change in legal authority to operate.

 

Violation of the policies, requirements, or standards AAPPP Credentialing.


At the discretion of the AAPPP.
 

 

A Credentialed institution placed on probation, dropped from Credentialing status or placed on inactive Credentialing will be notified in writing by certified mail.

 

A Credentialed institution placed on probation, dropped from Credentialing status or placed on inactive Credentialing will have the right of appeal before a designated arbiter appointed by the AAPPP whose decision shall be binding on all parties.


Current students and alumni have a reasonable expectation the institution will continue to exist and records will be maintained and secure. Credentialed institutions must make provision for preservation of records and issuance of transcripts should they no longer continue to operate.

 

Applicants for Credentialing or institutions applying for re-Credentialing are responsible for paying all required fees prior to AAPPP issuing the Credentialing documentation.
